5 Easy Steps!
Step 1:
Review our current list of Volunteer Opportunities (see bottom of this page) and think about what you would like to do. Some of our positions offer physically exhilarating opportunities such as playing/monitoring golf on the course, while others are mentally stimulating such as teaching life lessons of the driving range/course. All support roles are necessary to keep our program and facilities operating smoothly.
Step 2:
Call or email Program & Volunteer Coordinator Cassie Flegel at cflegel@tftnn.org or 775.851.2332.
Step 3:
Volunteers must attend a Volunteer Orientation with The First Tee of Northern Nevada. Orientation will help you familiarize yourself with the program and the opportunities for having an impact on a child. During this session you will meet other volunteers, learn basics of the program so you can answer general questions from parents and you will gain an understanding of the code of conduct to which the students must adhere.
Step 4:
Complete a background screening (paid for by The First Tee). Before assuming a volunteer assignment, all adult volunteers will need to successfully complete the background screening.
Step 5:
Schedules will be provided so you can sign up for times convenient for you. We will work with you to ensure that you are comfortable with your responsibilities. We welcome your questions and feedback about our training, orientation and your assignment. We want to ensure that you have a fulfilling volunteer experience at The First Tee of Northern Nevada!
