Birdies For Charity Contest Winners Announced 1,960 birdies were made during last week's PGA event, the Reno-Tahoe Open and over $8,000 was made for The First Tee of Northern Nevada through the event's Birdies for Charity program. First Tee mom Lisa Stevens won the 1 year lease on a 2010 Lexus 250 IS coupe and the following participants are winners of our Birdies for Charity sales contest: Patricia Jacobson ($390.00), Jordan & Carson Buxton ($365.20), Maggie Jones ($287.20), and Stephanie King ($225.00). All four winners will receive a $50 gift card to Golf Headquarter, a round of golf at Hidden Valley Country Club, and a 9-hole playing lesson at Somersett Country Club. First runner-up Sarah Alamaraz ($187.60) will also receive a round of golf at Hidden Valley. Additional donations will be accepted through the end of July. Donate Now >> |

PGA TOUR Junior Course Reporter Blogs First Tee participants Sarah Almaraz, age 16, Carly Farthing, age 14, and Jessica Patridge, age 15,participated at the Reno-Tahoe Open July 14th & 15th as PGA TOUR Junior Course Reporters. The young women had full media credentials and interacted with other members of the media, players, caddies, PGA TOUR officials, and tournament operations staff.

For Children of Reservists & Guardsmen The First Tee of Northern Nevada is proud to partner with the Department of Defense and extend no cost golf and life skills instruction to the children of National Guardsmen and Reservists. Youth 7-17 years of age are invited to participate in one free session of The First Tee PLAYer program, with subsequent class sessions availabe for just $10. Each class session is made up of 6-8 lessons.

Spring 2010 A/B Honor Roll Students The First Tee recognizes the impact scholastic achievement has on a young person's future and has two programs to promote and acknowledge students who achieve academic excellence; The First Tee A/B Honor Roll and The First Tee Scholars program.
Students who receive all A's and B's (or their equivalent) on their report cards become members of The First Tee A/B Honor Roll and receive a certificate of recognition from Joe Louis Barrow, Jr., the CEO of The First Tee.
