College Scholarships

The First Tee of Northern Nevada believes everyone should have the opportunity to attend college. In addition to The First Tee of Northern Nevada Tom Fischer Memorial Scholarship, many other scholarships are offered to local high school seniors.

Tom Fischer Memorial Scholarship

The First Tee of Northern Nevada Tom Fischer Memorial Scholarship awards two to three $500 scholarships to high school seniors in May.

Applications must be postmarked by April 30th.

Chamber of Commerce College Scholarship

The Tony Armstrong Memorial Scholarship carries on the vision and spirit of late Armstrong, previous Mayor of the City of Sparks. Any high school senior with a GPA of 2.5 or better who attends a Washoe County School is encouraged to apply.

College Scholarship Opportunities for Girls

The Northern Nevada Women's Golf Association (NNWGA) offers annual scholarships of $500 or more to female high school seniors who played golf on a northern Nevada girl's high school golf team. Applicants do not have to plan on playing collegiate golf to apply. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required.

The Nevada State Women's Golf Association (NSWGA) also offers annual scholarships of $1500 or more to female high school golfers who played on their girl's high school golf team and played in the 2011 regional championship.

Application Deadline for Both Scholarships is April 15, 2013.

Jim Langley NCPGA College Scholarship

The Jim Langley Scholarship of the Northern California PGA Foundation is open to male and female high school seniors, residing within the boundaries of the Nothern California PGA Section (Reno, Sparks, and Carson City are included), who participate in a minimum of six tournaments per year, have been accepted at an acccredited college or university, and hold a grade point average minimum of 2.0. Two equal awards of $2,000, each to a deserving male and female applicant.

Scholarship Applications Must Be Received by June 1, 2013.
